AI Act Standards: What AI Leaders need to know

One EU AI Act harmonized standard has been approved so far: EN 18286, covering quality management systems for high-risk AI providers. It still isn't cited in the Official Journal, so it doesn't yet carry Article 40's presumption of conformity. The other standards moving through JTC 21, covering risk management, cybersecurity, dataset governance, and the trustworthiness framework, are all still in draft. For most of what the Act actually asks of you, there is no finished standard to point to yet.
