EU AI Act Omnibus update

26 July 2026

·Updated the EU AI Act timeline throughout for the Digital Omnibus, published in the Official Journal on 24 July 2026 as Regulation (EU) 2026/1744 and in force from 27 July 2026. Annex III standalone high-risk obligations move to 2 December 2027 and Annex I product-embedded obligations to 2 August 2028.
·Article 50 transparency duties and GPAI enforcement remain on the original 2 August 2026 date and are described as such.

Initial version

·Initial publication of the buyer’s guide covering 22 AI governance tools across five segments: policy/compliance and GRC, observability, runtime enforcement and guardrails, red-teaming and AI security, and enterprise incumbents.

Update cadence

This guide is reviewed at least quarterly. Vendor additions, removals, and major thematic changes are recorded here; minor copy edits are not. The next scheduled review is 26 October 2026. Out-of-band updates may happen earlier when an EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, or NIST AI RMF development materially changes the evaluation.
